&#;The girls "set in" right merrily. The tea was up to Captain Jim's best brewing. Little Joe's mother's cake was the last word in cakes; Captain Jim was the prince of gracious hosts, never even permitting his eyes to wander to the corner where the life-book lay, in all its bravery of green and gold. But when his door finally closed behind Anne and Leslie they knew that he went straight to it, and as they walked home they pictured the delight of the old man poring over the printed pages wherein his own life was portrayed with all the charm and color of reality itself.

 &#;Exciting Gameplay

Blizzard revealed a new "jousting" mechanic for its card-battler Hearthstone at Gamescom.

It will be used by the 11 new cards that were also revealed today but they won't be available until the new The Grand Tournament expansion is out later this month.

To demonstrate how "jousting" works, Blizzard used the Master Jouster, as you can see here. When played, both players have to reveal a minion from their deck.

If your minion card has a higher mana cost than your opponent's card then your Master Jouster will get a defensive boost.

According to Eurogamer, other cards that have the "jousting" ability gain attacking power or return Health points to your Hero instead of defence points.

Blizzard also revealed that there will be changes to Hearthstone's seasonal Ranked Play reward system.

It's good news: there will be additional tiered rewards for you to earn as you climb up the ladder each month.

If you reach Rank 17, for example, then you'll get a new Rare card, as well as bonus crafting dust and a new card back.

It's there to encourage more people to keep trying to climb the ranks before the reset.
"Yes, he sleeps--well," he added quietly. "Anne, Captain Jim has crossed the bar."

Minecraft developer Mojang has reduced the price of its collectible card game Scrolls ahead of its forthcoming release on tablets.

The Scrolls beta has been available on Windows and Mac since June 2013 for anyone who pays the £13 / $21 asking price.

That price has now been dropped to just $5 (£2.99) so that it suits the typical price range for tablet games.

"Our current price of $21 isn’t feasible for tablets," Mojang wrote on the Scrolls blog.

"As you probably already know, games are cheap on those things. Free-to-play would be an option, but we’re not keen on the way that that form of monetisation can affect gameplay."

Mojang's aim for Scrolls is to have an active cross-platform community playing competitively against each other.

A WOLF, passing by, saw some Shepherds in a hut eating a haunch of mutton for their dinner. Approaching them, he said, "What a clamor you would raise if I were to do as you are doing!"
